Leading neurosurgeon to speak at Wellness Community

Dr. Ray M. Chu will review the management of brain tumors, as well as current and future research efforts at a free workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 2 at The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

Chu's topics will include advances in surgical technology, stereotactic radiosurgery, dendritic cell vaccine, scorpion toxin protocol and stem cell treatment of brain tumors.

Chu is an attending neurosurgeon at the department of neurosurgery at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. He has experience in radiosurgery, including use of the Gamma Knife system.

Chu was named one of America's top surgeons in 2007.
