'WHAT A HAM'-- Jitterbug, a 26-year-old male, sticks out his tongue as Kelly Knowd, 7, of Newbury Park brushes his mane at Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship during "Books in the Barn." The Kiwanis Club of Conejo Valley paired up Saturday with Ride On, a nonprofit organization that teaches horsemanship to disabled children, to present the free event. Children could listen to stories in one of the barns, make stick ponies, pet and brush two of the stable's horses and enjoy refreshments.
