TOP PIC-- The California Newspaper Publishers Association (CNPA) chose Acorn photo editor Jann Hendry first-place winner in weeklies' Breaking News category for this picture depicting the reaction of co-winners of a geography bee at Lang Ranch Elementary School. Emily Demsetz and David Huang were second-graders when the photo ran March 23, 2006 in the Thousand Oaks Acorn. The photo submitted was black-and-white.
