Residents face a power outage

About 19,000 Southern California Edison customers in Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks experienced a blackout on Monday between 12:56 and 1:51 p.m. due to a foreign object making contact with something in the Newbury Park electricity substation, Edison spokesperson Steven Conroy said.

"It had nothing to do with rolling blackouts," Conroy said.

On Tuesday, Edison was still unable to identify the foreign object that had caused the power outage, spokesperson Gil Alexander said.
