DARE is no good

Regarding your June 7 editorial, "Thanks, T.O., for preserving DARE as long as you did," drug prohibition truly makes some editors and most politicians insane.

Otherwise, why would we hear ridiculous endorsements for a totally counterproductive DARE program?

DARE actually increased drug use among students. Praising counterproductive drug policies is madness.

Using police to lie to children about drugs has never worked.

What makes Thousand Oaks think it's an exception?
