Stagecoach Inn backdrop for annual La Fiesta del Triunfo

The Conejo Valley Historical Society's annual La Fiesta del Triunfo will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sat., July 21 at the Stagecoach Inn Museum, 51 S. Ventu Park Road, Newbury Park. Reservations are required by Fri., July 13.

There will be a social hour, living-history presentations and tours of the museum. A tritip and barbecued chicken dinner, prepared by the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks, will be served at 6:30.

The Don and Doña Triunfo will be introduced at the fiesta. The title is given to Conejo Valley residents recognized for their community volunteer efforts, and this year's honorees are Rudyard Beldner and Judy Lazar.

Beldner and his wife, Eunice Udelf, moved to Newbury Park after his retirement in 1986. Since that time he has devoted his energies to a variety of community projects, including involvement with the Arts Council Center, Thousand Oaks Arts Commission, Community Gallery Steering Committee and the Conejo Valley Historical Society. A former Thousand Oaks mayor and council member, Lazar has been active in many Conejo Valley civic organizations, including local YMCAs, the Conejo School Foundation, the Ventura County United Way and the Conejo Future Foundation. She and her husband, Roger, have been Thousand Oaks residents since 1971. In addition to the presentation of the Don and

Doña, there will be a live

auction featuring artwork by Bob Rickard and Rick Beal and dancing to the music of the Starlighters.
