EV Free Church to host day camp

Discovery Day Camp is a new faith-based children's day camp for children in grades one through six at the EV Free Conejo Valley Church, 999 Rancho Conejo Blvd., Newbury Park.

Regular camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Aug. 24. Extended Day Camp is offered from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

The camp has a space theme. Children will visit mission control for a large group time, space stations for small group time and docking stations for activities such as crafts and games. Snack and lunch will be served at the refueling and recharging station.

Two field trips are planned per week. Sites will include California Adventure, Hurricane Harbor, Santa Barbara Zoo and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Campus field trips will include Mad Science and Captain Carl's Mobile Tide Pool.

At the camp, children will be taught life, social, physical, personal and academic skills through the activities and the guidance of the trained staff.
