Jazz concert features music of Mel Torme

New West Symphony will debut a jazz concert featuring James Torme performing newly orchestrated hits from his father, Mel Torme, at 8 p.m. Fri., July 6 at the Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Highlights include David Paich, son of late jazz composer Marty Paich, conducting the Paich version of the California Suite recorded in 1957 by Mel Torme.
