There's more to the Plame/Wilson/ White House story than meets the eye

Regarding Helena Mecartea's letter in the June 14 Thousand Oaks Acorn, Ms. Mecartea: where is your evidence regarding ". . . her identity was revealed by Bush administration. . ." and ". . . whose 'outing' as a CIA agent for political ends . . ."

Firstly, being covert to the FBI isn't the same as being covert under the law in regard to outing a covert agent.

Secondly, had Fitzgerald found any acquisitions to be true, he would have prosecuted accordingly, yet he found nothing to support Wilson's claims, only conflicting statements by Libby.

Coleman was pointing out that the Acorn could have offered some balance by mentioning this as well as the fact that Fitzgerald continued to investigate what he already knew for months, that Armitage was the unprosecuted "leaker."

Finally, three different things have been said as to how Wilson's assignment came about. It doesn't help that many can't seem to differentiate between "recently sought" (uranium) and "Niger sold" (Acorn quotes). One was claimed and proven (in the July 7, '04 committee report), while the other wasn't claimed.

It seems people are less interested in conflicting accusations and more in how to make this administration look bad and packing auditoriums doing it.

Had anyone had any proof, they should have let Fitzgerald know. Mike Di Fatta Thousand Oaks
