Concert and Gospel Praise Brunch set for Sunday

The Ventura County Summer Concert Series and Gospel Praise Brunch will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun., June 24 at Ruby's Café, 348 Oxnard Blvd. in downtown Oxnard.

The brunch is designed to give local artists exposure to the community and allow residents to break bread together and continue their Sunday celebration.

This new venture for Christian artists is attracting all genres of music.

Singer/songwriter Athena will perform at 11:30 a.m.

Fitz Houston will play beginning at 1:30 p.m. He is a praise and worship leader and accomplished flugelhorn and trumpet player. Houston has just released three Christian CD projects.

Also performing during the brunch will be the Tri-County Women of Worship.

Children will get free balloons.

The cost is $19.95 for one adult or $35 for two. Children ages 9 to 12 are $15, ages 4 to 8 are $5 and under 4 are free. Seniors over 62 are $10.
