Tattered flags retired with dignity

JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers WELL SERVED- During a flag retirement ceremony at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza last Thursday, several U.S. flags are carried by local servicemen to the hearse which will transport them to Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Camarillo. The flags will be burned there; all American flags are required to be burned upon retirement.
