A solemn moment on Flag Day

JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers SHARP SALUTE- Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11395 salute the flag during rededication of the Huberth Memorial at the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks last Thursday. The memorial honors U.S. Air Force Capt. Eric J. Huberth, missing in action in the Vietnam War. Huberth's aircraft was shot down in May 1970. The wood abstract sculpture was crafted by Gigi from an oak tree at the original memorial at the old city hall in Thousand Oaks.
