Local fitness trainer wins top award

Brian Theiss of the Theiss Institute in Westlake Village has been named Trainer of the Year by the International Sports Sciences Association for the third consecutive year.

Theiss develops advanced health and conditioning programs at his state-of-the-art health and fitness training facility. He specializes in working with corporate executives.

Since 1988, the association has provided certification and continuing education to more than 80,000 fitness professionals.

Since 1983, Theiss has helped more than 15,000 clients improve their physical condition and overall health through customized programs. Theiss was the first in the United States to effectively bridge the gap between the medical community and the health and fitness industry by combining medical testing with conditioning programs.
