College offers classes for seniors at extension in Thousand Oaks

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Cal State Channel Islands is now offering courses for seniors 50 and older in Thousand Oaks. Courses are intended for intellectual stimulation. There are no tests, grades or college credits.

Charles McDermott, artistic administrator of the New West Symphony, will teach "Music and Modernism: Debussy to Charles Ives" for eight consecutive Saturdays beginning Aug. 25, 10 a.m. to noon, at the CSUCI Extended Education Center, 501 Marin Ave. near Hillcrest Road, across from The Oaks mall.

Enrollment is free to all OLLI members with membership current in the fall session, but the fee is $65 for those who are enrolling in only one course. Enrollment closes at the first class meeting.

Call (805) 437-2748 to enroll or for more information, or visit www.csuci/exed/osher/htm.
