CLU women's water polo players honored A magical season ended with three California Lutheran University Regals water polo players being named to All-America teams. Following the best finish in the history of CLU water polo, juniors Nicole Pecel, Jill Jensen and Katie Windsor earned AllAmerica recognition. As key players for the Regals all season, the program centered around the accomplishments of this trio. Pecel was honored as a firstteam AllAmerica. She was a secondteam AllAmerica last yea Pecel tied for the team lead with 47 goals and added top three performances in four other categories during her junior campaign. She was third in steals (38), third in assists (26), third drawn ejections (21) and tied for first with three field blocks. Pecel recorded a five-goal game on March 14 at home against George Washington. Joining Pecel as a first-team All-America was Jensen, a junior utility player. A phenomenal 26 steals in five games at the Collegiate III National Tournament earned Jensen the MVP award. Her performance included eight and sevensteal performances against ClaremontMuddScripps in the quarterfinal and championship games respectivelyJensen was named SCIAC Athlete of the Week in recognition of her accomplishments at Nationals. Jensen set a school season record with 91 steals. She also finished the season with 31 assists, leading the Regals in both categories. Offensively, she scored 14 goals for CLU. Rounding out the trio was Windsor, a junior goalie. She earned her first AllAmerica recognition as a member of the second team. Windsor recorded 216 blocks in front of the cage and tallied 29 steals- good for fourth on the team- and 12 assists this year. All three Regals will return for their senior season in 2008.
