Home Depot not a good fit in Westlake Village
The Westlake Village where Home Depot's Rick Greene points out that Kmart was developed 35 years ago as a major retail operation is not the same Westlake Village in 2007.

The Newbury Park Home Depot is a fine store that carries everything, and like so many, it's well situated in an industrial park.

The proposed Hampshire Road site is smack off the freeway where 35 years ago traffic wasn't an issue for Kmart, but it's a mess for residents today, and no amount of "aesthetic enhancement" is going make it a pretty sight.

Home Depot is a great business, but they're creating a need in Westlake Village where a need doesn't exist.
