United Chambers honors owners of Pickles Deli

Pickles Deli in Newbury Park has won an award. The United Chambers of Commerce has selected Alex and David Lovi, owners of Pickles, as the small business owners of the year. The Lovis were nominated by the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Lovis also own Agoura's Famous Deli, which has served customers for more than 10 years on Kanan Road in Agoura Hills, north of Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Pickles opened recently on Newbury Road at the west end of the Conejo Valley. "Alex Lovi has been a model business owner in Thousand Oaks. His personal customer service is appreciated by his customers, and that's why they keep coming back and sending their friends," said Alex Soteras, director of the United Chambers of Commerce and executive director of the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Lovis will receive the small business award at a special awards breakfast at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow, June 8, at the Beverly Garland Hotel in North Hollywood. They will also receive commendations from government officials, including L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
