Author Rip Rense, whose new novel "The Oaks" is based on his youth in the Thousand Oaks of the 1960s, will read from his book at 7 p.m. Wed., June 13 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.
