Thieves clean out laundry rooms

Thieves capable of heavy lifting and probably equipped with a truck or van took six coinoperated washing machines and a dryer last month from various locations in Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks.

First reported stolen was the commercial dryer. It was removed from a laundry room in the 200 block of E. Wilbur Road in Thousand Oaks sometime between May 18 and 21.

Then a pair of washing machines were stolen from a T.O. apartment complex in the 200 block of Erbes Road on the morning of May 20.

The following day, a commercial washer was taken from the 500 block of Avenida de La Plata in Newbury Park between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Back in T.O. in the 200 block of Erbes Road another washing machine disappeared from a laundry room between 11:30 a.m. and noon May 23.

Property was reported missing from a T.O. laundry room in the 2000 block of Los Feliz Drive sometime between 10 and 11:20 p.m. May 22.

The next night, a coinoperated washing machine was stolen from a laundry room in the same block of Los Feliz Drive.

The sixth commercial washer reported stolen was taken May 24 or 25 from the 600 block of Avenida de Platino in Newbury Park.
