T.O. citizen helps fight ALS

TEARS OF JOY- Agoura High School senior Christina Bhattacharya receives a tissue from Denise Glass, a Thousand Oaks resident, after she presented Glass with 1,000 paper cranes made by Deborah Frank's English class. Glass, who suffers from ALS, known as Lou Gehrig's disease, has been featured on NBC's "Today" show, and is participating in the reality TV show "Giving Celebrity Style." Glass has raised more than $200,000 for the L.A. ALS chapter. A June 4 benefit at the Geffen Playhouse is planned in honor of Glass' 50th birthday. Go to www.alsala.org for information.
