Church to sponsor annual music, arts camp

Students entering grades one to eight in the fall are eligible to apply for the 15th annual Pizazz summer musical arts camp scheduled for Aug. 6 through 10 at the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, 1049 S. Westlake Blvd.

This year's theme is "Bach, Beatles, Beach Boys and Blues." The camp is sponsored by the church's music ministry, but is open to all children.

A qualified staff uses singing, hand bell and choir chime ringing, choreography and music enrichment in a nonreligious arts curriculum to teach the joy of music.

The schedule is 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. celebration performance for participants' parents and friends. Extended day care may be provided for an additional fee.

Tuition, which includes a $20 nonrefundable application fee, is $100 with a $5 discount for additional children in the same family. The cost is $10 less if full payment is received by June 3. The fee includes a camp Tshirt. Limited scholarship assistance is available.
