YMCA Golf Classic funds scholarships, summer camp

The 24th annual YMCA Golf Classic, sponsored by Dole Foods, will be held Mon., June 18 at the Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley. Proceeds go to the Southeast Ventura County YMCA.

The tournament features a 1 p.m. shotgun start, tournament contests throughout the day, a silent and live auction, and a banquet and awards dinner. Holeinone prizes include a week in Hawaii, a Wilshire TV big screen television, a Dell computer and Bose sound system.

The golf classic raises funds to help underwrite teen and outreach programs, offset the cost of child care for low-income families and to provide scholarships to summer camp.

The fee is $175 per person, or $700 for a foursome, and includes 18 holes of golf, a tournament shirt and banquet dinner. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
