Conejo Rotary hosts car show at CLU June 10

The Conejo Valley Car Classic will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun., June 10 at the Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center at California Lutheran University, 60 W. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks.

The event, sponsored by the Conejo Valley Rotary Club, will feature classic American and foreign cars from private owners

hroughout Southern California.

Proceeds from the car show will benefit charities including Westminster Free Clinic, Polio Plus, Rotoplast and the Wheelchair Foundation.

The Car Classic features 17 categories, including American car by era, foreign car by era, specialty and kit cars, street rods and roadsters, and best in show.

The cars will be judged both by car owners and the public, with awards for "driver's choice" and "people's choice." Hybrids and electric vehicles will also be shown at an environmental display.

Entertainment will include music by the local band Coveralls and a dog show starring border collie Bart and his dog trainer, Bob Singer.

Car show tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18 and seniors over 65.

A family pass is $20. Admission includes ballots for "people's choice" awards, entertainment, car specialty vendors, food vendors, a raffle and exhibits.
