Property tax rebate help available

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will offer a homeowners and renters assistance program from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays June 21 through Aug. 30 at the Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E. Janss Road in T.O.

Volunteers will help qualified individuals get a onceyearly rebate on property tax payments. To qualify, the following must apply as of Dec. 31, 2006: 62 years or older, blind or disabled; living in own home or qualified rented dwelling in California; if renting, paid $50 or more per month in rent; have total household income of $42,770 or less, including Social Security. The following will be needed: federal tax return; proof of age; county property tax bill or, if renting, landlord's contact info. For details, call Jackie Lund at (805) 381-2742.
