Jack Weisel

Jack Weisel, beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Newbury Park on Monday, May 14, 2007. He was 47.

Jack was born October 16, 1959 in Los Angeles, California. He attended Fairfax High School and PiercCollege.

He worked many years as an electrician and was owner of Dolphin Electric. For a few years he was a graphic artist for The Acorn Newspapers.

Jack possessed a gentle soul, was compassionate, supportive and warm hearted. He was able to see the absurdities in life and was universally loved by all who knew him. If you needed help Jack was the first to volunteer. It didn't matter if you were his neighbor, coworker, family, stranger or just a defenseless stray animal, Jack was willing to give a helping hand. If physical labor was not required maybe a light hearted quip would do. Maybe it was just a smile and "how are you" to a stranger or a bowl of kibble for his four legged friend to be. Jack looked at others and felt he could help. And he could just by being Jack.

He loved to laugh and make people laugh by telling stories. Jack was hysterically funny; he could render you into side-splitting, tear-rolling, table-slapping laughter. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a special love for dolphins and creatures of the ocean, but he loved his dogs the most. They were his companions and he cared so much for them.

Jack loved his family very much and is survived by his parents, Eva and Ted Weisel of Los Angeles; his brother and sisterinlaw, Sol and Barbara Weisel of Oak Park; his sister and brotherinlaw, Mona and Greg Uttal of Westlake Village; and his niece and nephews, Jessica Weisel, Noah Weisel, Jordan Uttal and Brent Uttal.
