Gem and mineral club hosts annual show

The Conejo Gem and Mineral Club will host its 33rd annual show, "Pageant of a Thousand Gems," from 9 a.m. to 5 p.mSat., May 19 and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sun., May 20 at the Borchard Park Community Center, 190 Reino Road, Newbury Park.

Admission and parking are free. Food will be available for sale.

Dealers will offer a variety of gems, minerals, fossils, stone beads, silver craft, finished jewelry, tools, lapidary supplies and books about earth science.

There will be a rock and mineral silent auction throughout both days.

There will be hourly drawings for door prizes; tickets will be available to attendees at the information table near the front door.

The club meets the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Arts Center, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. Club activities include lectures, rock hounding field trips, classes, lapidary, children and teen groups, picnics and parties.
