CRPD rakes in program awards

On May 6, Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD) received three awards at the annual Conference of the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts.

The awards were for best newspaper coverage associated with the summer program Camp Gazette; best marketing and communications with the recently published Parks and Facilities Guide; and a special honor award for the community timeline on display at the Dos Vientos Community Center and The Oaks mall.

Chair Mark Jacobsen accepted the awards on behalf of the Conejo Recreation and Park District and expressed appreciation to the district's employees and community partners for making these programs and publications possible.

At the conclusion of the conference, Joe Gibson, a Conejo Recreation and Park District board member, began his tenure as president of the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts, a statewide organization of nearly 70 districts. For more information, visit www.carpd.org.
