CLU women's water polo team swims away with national title

STUNNER- Members of the California Lutheran University women's water polo team celebrate Sunday's 10-6 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the title game of the Collegiate Division III National Championships on the campus of UC Santa Cruz. In only their fourth year of existence, the Regals won the university's second national championship. In 1971, the CLU football team captured an NAIA title. Jill Jensen was named tournament MVP, while Nicole Pecel, Katie Windsor, Marianne Paradowski and Ashley Bentz all earned All-Tournament honors. Head coach Craig Rond was named the Division III women's water polo Coach of the Year.
