Residents can adopt an oak in T.O.

The city of Thousand Oaks is sponsoring an Adopt an Oak program and offers three varieties: the valley oak, the coast live oak and the scrub oak.

Residents are invited to adopt a local oak tree in honor or in memory of family members ofriends. The program is a way fothe city to raise funds for Open Space maintenance and development of public recreational facilities, according to a spokesperson for the city.
