Curves gathers pounds of food

Curves International, a fitness franchise, announced that the 2007 Curves Food Drive in Westlake Village brought in 3,225 pounds of food, which will benefit MANNA's food bank.

Around the world, Curves members donated nearly 11 million pounds of food to food banks.

This was the company's ninth food drive and Curves Westlake Village's sixth year of participation.

Every year in March, women have the opportunity to donate a bag of groceries in lieu of paying the Curves membership fee.

The drive accounted for 30 new memberships at the Westlake Village Curves and added more than 166,000 new members worldwide.

In the past decade, Curves franchises have collected and distributed more than 50 million pounds of food to local food banks throughout the world.
