Conejo Valley Activities Committee honors service, volunteer groups
Four service and volunteer organizations were honored at the annual Conejo Valley Days Interservice Club Luncheon May 3 at the Los Robles Greens Golf Course. The luncheon, sponsored by the Conejo Valley Activities Committee and Conejo Valley Days, honored two service clubs and two v o l u n t e e r groups that have made a significant impact on the community during the past 12 months. The event attracted more than 200 attendees.
The awards were divided into two categories: small groups with up to 49 volunteers and large clubs with 50 or more volunteers.

"Our community is very volunteer oriented," said Evie Bystrom-Herrera, who emceed the awards ceremony and who's a member of Zonta Club and Soroptimist Club of the Conejo.
"More and more, service organizations are partnering in their efforts to support the needs of the community and nonprofit groups such as Senior Concerns and Hospice of the Conejo."
"The Westlake Village Sunrise Rotary raised more than $200,000 last year that went to worthy causes," said Diana Javurek, Conejo Valley Days offsite chair. "The luncheon is a way to acknowledge volunteer organizations that have made a positive impact."
