Will miss Bully

I read your article in the April 19 Thousand Oaks Acorn on the end of an era at Two Winds Ranch. The article brought my daughters and me to tears. I will miss Bully and all of the wonderful things he's done for my girls immensely.

He's mentored and been almost a grandfather figure or favorite uncle to them as he guided them through learning how to care for and be responsible for a living creature.

Thanks to his encouragement and kindness, my daughter Skye worked as a trail guide for a year to earn enough money to buy herself a horse. And my younger daughter, Shade, received a horse and has learned what it means to work hard and be unselfish when something you love needs caring for.

Thanks to Bully and the laid-back and family atmosphere of Two Winds, both girls have learned what it means to love and appreciate their lives and the value of working hard for what you want. Bully has taught them responsibility, kindness, patience and perseverance, just by allowing them opportunities that they ordinarily would not have had.

Thank you so much to Bully and the lessons and experiences that being a part of Two Winds has brought.

I only hope the new owners can be as thoughtful and inspiring with the kids that have come to call Two Winds their second home.
