Vacant Kmart an eyesore in T.O.

My office is directly adjacent to the property previously occupied by Kmart, just south of the 101 Freeway on Hampshire Road. I'd like to voice my strong support for the proposed Home Depot. It will be a welcome change to the existing vacant buildings and deteriorating parking lot.

The property is located at one of the main entrances to Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village and currently represents a negative impact on the rest of the neighborhood. Home Depot at this site will be an asset that significantly enhances not only the current vacant site, but also the surrounding area.

Home Depot has a track record of community involvement and employee support. Representatives from Home Depot personally came by my practice to speak with me about the development plans with renderings, noting my concerns and demonstrating their interest in being a great neighbor.

It's high time for this area to be revitalized. The proposed landscaping and design for the new, smaller Home Depot will represent the Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village gateway area well.

Home Depot will do much to improve the current site. I urge our community to extend our welcome to Home Depot as a new neighbor.
