La Reina swimmer commits to Cornell

La Reina High senior Laura DeCesare, 18, has committed to Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and will swim for the Cornell women's team next season.

DeCesare's swimming career for the Regents has included participation in numerous sectional championships, being named to the Scholastic AllAmerica team in 2005 and 2006, and playing an integral role in La Reina's first-place finish in the 2006 CIF-Southern Section championships.

DeCesare is a member of Conejo Simi Aquatics. Another former member of CSA, Leah Tourtellotte, also swims at Cornell. Tourtellotte is a junior at the Ivy League university.
