YMCA's open house coming on Sunday

The Conejo Valley YMCA will hold an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Sun., April 22 at 4031 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

The Y will provide information on exercise classes, programs and membership. A water aerobics demonstration class will be at 2 p.m. Tours will be conducted throughout the day.

YMCA members have unlimited use of the facility's fitness center and use of the heated 25yard indoor lap pool during family swim hours. Water classes, weight loss and wellness programs, and fitness classes are also available.

The Conejo Valley Y provides free child care during morning hours Monday through Friday.

The facility's hydrotherapy pool, which is kept at 92 degrees, is being converted to a salt cleaning system, which does not affect skin, hair and bathing suits, according to Janelle Achenbach, membership and fitness director. Hydrotherapy classes are designed for individuals with arthritis and others who experience joint and muscle aches.
