Yard sale for breast cancer

A local walking team will have a yard sale to raise funds for the Los Angeles Avon Walk for Breast Cancer from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., April 28 at 2388 Adrian St., Newbury Park.

The team has a fundraising target of $25,000 and to date has raised $4,537. Each walker will raise a minimum of $1,800 to qualify to walk the 39.3 mile event on Sept. 15 and 16.

Participants also want to raise awareness of the disease so women will do routine self-exams and get yearly mammograms.
