Former Westlake player coping with tragedy as a member of Virginia Tech's softball team

      On Monday the worst shooting in U.S. history took place on the campus of Virginia Tech University when 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui killed 32 people and injured 21 others before taking his own life. The effects of this tragedy reverberated worldwide.

Lancers blow past Newbury Park
     BILL SPARKES/Acorn Newspapers TOUGH DAY- Fletcher Munksgard, above, of Newbury Park hits a serve during Tuesday's match at home against Thousand Oaks. Despite Munksgard's best effort, the Lancers easily defeated the Panthers 15-3. Newbury Park is now 7-8 overall and 3-8 in league play.
