Until churches teach evolution, schools should ignore creationism

Ah- the never-ending story about the teaching of creationism in the schools continues. In all of the arguments for and against, there appears to be one that has never been broached: If creationism is taught in public schools, there will never be any time to learn reading, writing, math or- God forbid- science.

Teaching creationism would require a different class for each religious variation. So the entire school day would consist of many classes, each devoted to a different discipline.

There would have to be a class for Christianity, one for Buddhism, another for Scientology, Shintoism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Taoism.

There exist over 4,200 different religions, churches, denominations, religious bodies, faith groups, etc.

There would be hell-to-pay if any religion were to be left out.

And can you imagine the cost for textbooks?

On the other hand, there's only one theory of evolution. An hour a day, that's all it would take.

Would it not be much more efficient to allow the actual religious groups to teach creationism in their own facilities, as they are doing right now? Terry Staler Thousand Oaks
