City seeks input on turnaround

The city of Thousand Oaks would like community feedback on proposed changes to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza turnaround on the third level of City Hall.

The turnaround will undergo design changes to improve its appearance and provide a safer walkway for visitors coming to city hall and the theaters.

A trial run of the proposed traffic changes will be scheduled before the changes take place. Trialrun dates will be announced. Visitors will be encouraged to experience the temporary changes and offer comments and suggestions. T h e proposed construction start date is the summer of 2008; completion is expected in the winter of 2009.

Plans were reviewed with local organizations for the disabled, which agreed the plans met the needs of the disabled, children and emergency vehicles.

Proposed changes include a new drop-off and pickup zone in the parking structure near the thirdlevel elevators, two 30minute parking spaces added for box office patrons and large bus drop-off and pickup access.
