Crowned 'Miss Teen'

NEW ROYALTY- Allison Soto of Thousand Oaks High School waves to the applauding crowd as she is crowned Miss Teen Ventura at the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks on March 24. The Miss Teen Ventura County and Greater Conejo Valley International pageant is hosted by "Crowning Glory Productions," a company created and run by Connie and Marty Gushwa. The girls competing in these contests volunteer throughout their local areas on behalf of a nonprofit organization of their choosing. Soto represents "Girls Inc.," an organization promoting a young woman's right to be herself. The Miss Ventura County title was given to Ashley Kolbrad, another Thousand Oaks High School student.
