CVD Battle of the Bands now accepting entries
Conejo Valley Days will host "Conejo's Best Battle of the Bands" and is accepting entries from local high school and college bands through Wed., April 11.
The eight selected bands will compete at 8 p.m. Wed., May 2 at the FunZone d u r i n g C o n e j o Valley Days.
"Professional judges will score the bands based on a range of music and performance criteria," said Kevin Rock, Conejo Valley Days entertainment chair.
Judges include Mark Elliot, group program director at Gold Coast Broadcasting, and Burleigh Drummond, a professional mus i c i a n / p r o ducer and T h o u s a n d Oaks resi
dent. Also on the panel is Doc Rogers, producer of the MAVRIC Awards that recognize local independent Ventura County musicians.
Among the prizes for the winning band will be the opportunity to play a fulllength concert on Thurs., May 3 at Conejo Valley Days. Other prizes are in the works, said Rock.
