Army Spc. John J. Duffy is an honor graduate after completing basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of John and Suzanne Duffy of Thousand Oaks and a 2006 graduate of Cal State Northridge.

Army Pvt. John D. Abker has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Larry Abker of Thousand Oaks.

Army ROTC Cadet Austin R. Hain was recognized as a top student in the UC Santa Barbara ROTC program. He earned awards for cadet leadership, ROTC academic honors, recruiting, drill team, volunteer and color guard. He is a 2006 graduate of Crespi Carmelite High School and the son of Dennis and Ginger Hain of Thousand Oaks.
