Superior Court soliciting applications for commissioner

The Ventura Superior Court is soliciting applications for the position of Superior Court Commissioner in anticipation of potential future openings. The recruitment will be used to establish a list of eligible candidates for vacancies, which may occur during the next 18 months.

Commissioners may hear matters including, but not limited to, family law, juvenile delinquency and dependency, child support services, probate accountings for guardianships and conservatorships, domestic violence, civil harassment, traffic, criminal and small claims, and civil law motion. They may also perform evening court sessions as assigned.

Court commissioners may be assigned to any court location in the county. Court facilities are in Oxnard, Simi Valley and Ventura. Applicants must be admitted to practice as a member of the state bar of California for at least 10 years. The final filing date is 5 p.m. Fri., April 20.
