Discovery Center helps students and teachers

The Discovery Center's plan to build a handson science center in our community is great news for our educational system. For many years, the students in our community have benefited from the excellent programs the Discovery Center has provided.

Our schools have sent students to Science Theater programs at the Civic Arts Plaza for many years. Many of our local schools have hosted Family Science Nights on our campuses to the delight of students, their parents and siblings.

Furthermore, the Discovery Center also continues to offer highly effective teacher training programs for many of our elementary teachers. Teachers, parents and students always report on the positive experiences they have at these Discovery Center events.

We have sent groups to the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Our experience is that the museum visit is poor because there just isn't adequate time to visit the museum in Los Angeles during the school day.

The Discovery Center provides great programs that compliment what we do in the locals schools. Our students deserve and will greatly benefit from this valuable resource in our community. Robert Iezza Principal, Conejo Elementary School
