Newbury Park high hosts Drumline event

The Newbury Park High School music department and the Black Knights Drum Corps will host a Southern California Percussion Alliance Drumline competition from 1 to 9 p.m. Sat., March 17 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun., March 18 in the gym at 456 N. Reino Road, Newbury Park.

Approximately 35 drumlines will compete. Westlake and Newbury Park high schools will perform Saturday and Thousand Oaks High on Sunday.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $7. Food will be available for purchase.

Funds raised will be used to replace band instruments in the school's music department.
