Supports Kuehl's proposal on healthcare

As a retired state employee of California, a former special education teacher at Camarillo State Hospital, I was outraged when I read Dr. Keith Richman's call for reform of the CALPERS, citing the high cost of medical care. The medical costs in our nation, let alone California, is ruining our economy.

We spend more money for healthcare than any other nation in the world, and as a nation we receive the least care for the money expended.

We have 47 million working Americans who cannot afford healthcare. HMOs, insurance companies and pharmaceutical houses are appropriating our health dollars for dividends and CEO salaries.

We need to support state Sen. Sheila Kuehl's California universal health bill and the governor's impetus for a California universal health program.
