Lightning strikes in Bakersfield

SPECIAL TEAM- The U-10 girls Lightning soccer team from Region 9 in Thousand Oaks captured third place at the Section playoffs in Bakersfield. The Lightning won the Area playoffs last December and was invited to represent Area E, which includes Simi Valley, Newbury Park, Agoura-Westlake, Malibu, Moorpark and Thousand Oaks. Eight areas were competing at the Section playoffs, which covered northern Los Angeles County, Ventura, Kern and Santa Barbara counties. The team is coached by Michael Kazmer and Michelle Pinnegar. Players are: Alexa Ashley, Amanda Hsu, Milana Kazmer, Morgan McLauglin, Jenna and Margot Meyers, Savannah O'Reilly and Misty Pinnegar.
