Scholarship money available for local student vocalists

The Village Voices Chorale is accepting applications for vocal scholarships. The deadline to apply is Fri., March 9.

The scholarships will be awarded to serious music students who wish to pursue a career in vocal music. Applicants need a strong academic record, a comprehensive background in music and letters of recommendation from a music specialist. Candidates must be enrolled in a university or college program.

Scholarships will be awarded in April. Two of the winners will be invited to perform at the chorale's spring concert June 1 and 2 at the Civic Arts Plaza Scherr Forum Theatre.
