County has shortage of foster parents
      People willing to parent children in need temporarily or permanently are being sought by the Ventura County Child and Family Service Department. "We do not have enough licensed foster homes to take care of these kids," said Elaine Martinez, Human Services program manager.

      The United States Youth Volleyball League is accepting online registrations for the spring 2007 season. The league is coed, for ages 8 to 14. Players are grouped into three age divisions. The focus is on learning the fundamentals of the sport. Prior experience is not required.
