Man held in possession of illegal weapons after disturbance of peace

Kenneth Scheum, 26, is suspected of possession of a variety of illegal weapons after police were summoned to the 500 block of Hampshire Road at about 9 p.m. Sun., Feb. 4 because of a disturbance of the peace complaint.

Scheum allegedly was armed with a loaded shotgun and in possession of a switchblade and another weapon, Ventura County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Capt. Ron Nelson said.

When police arrived in response to what was described as a white male yelling and out of control, they found Scheum allegedly intoxicated. After a foot pursuit, he was apprehended and taken to Ventura County Jail. His bail is set at $25,000.
